Moscow Heat Wave to Ease in Early June After 'July-Like' Temperatures
Moscow is bracing for "July-like" temperatures of up to +30°C (86°F) on Thursday and Friday, May 29 and 30, 2025, before a cooling trend takes hold.

This was announced on Thursday by Tatiana Pozdnyakova, lead specialist at the Meteonovosti weather agency. Her comments were cited by RT.
"Temperatures will drop on May 31 and June 1," Pozdnyakova stated.
According to Pozdnyakova, the temperature decrease will be particularly pronounced on June 1, as a cold front crosses the Moscow region, bringing localized, brief showers.
Pozdnyakova also noted that overnight into June 1, temperatures in Moscow will not exceed +15°C (59°F), while the broader Moscow Oblast will see lows of +11°C to +16°C (52 to 61°F). Daytime temperatures across the capital region are forecast to range from +19°C to +24°C (66 to 75°F). Winds will shift from westerly to northwesterly.
The forecast indicates that the coldest overnight period in the Moscow region will be into June 3, with temperatures expected to drop to +8°C to +13°C (46 to 55°F). However, daytime highs are still expected to reach +22°C to +27°C (72 to 81°F).
Earlier, the Russian Hydrometeorological Center (Gidromettsentr RF) reported that Moscow would experience extreme heat on May 28 and 29, 2025. In response, meteorologists issued an emergency warning.
On May 27, the main VDNKh weather station in Moscow recorded a record warm night. The minimum temperature registered was +19.2°C (66.6°F), which is 10°C (18°F) above the climatic norm and surpasses the previous daily record of +18.5°C (65.3°F) set in 1958.
